Centralny Port Komunikacyjny has signed an agreement with the Consultant for site surveys in the area of the future airport. These are further field activities undertaken by the Company.
We do everything to execute necessary actions as soon as possible. Where possible, we carry out various implementations in parallel. The agreement with the site survey consultant, on the one hand, acceleratesthese activities, but also makes the investment prepared at the highest level
The first part of the field and environmental activities has started last year. The work was commenced by the Environmental Consultant, whose role is to carry out environmental analyses concerning the CPK node. By the end of 2021, the Arup Polska company performing these works undertook to perform the so-called pre-construction environmental survey together with submission and approval of environmental condition survey reports.
The agreement signed with Multiconsult Polska concerns technical support by the Site Survey Consultant. This is the next step of activities in the so-called airport region. The scope of activities includes spatial analyses of the area and subsoil and will be used to create the Master Plan and the project definition documentation for the CPK. The surface of the area indicated for preliminary analyses is approx. 75 km2, and for preparatory survey – approx. 35 km2. Hydrogeological surveys and photogrammetric measurements will be carried out on the area of approx. 157 km2.
An important part of the agreement is the analysis of the possibility of using geothermal solutions (low – and medium-temperature geothermal energy). In accordance with the assumptions, the CPK Airport is to be constructed on the basis of the principles of sustainable development, using renewable energy sources (RES).
We count on effective cooperation. The contractor knows the scale of the challenges it faces. It knows our requirements and work standards. We already cooperate with Multiconsult in environmental surveys for railway investments. However, the current agreement will require much greater involvement and constant coordination of activities with the CPK’s works under the so-called integrated teams. This method of investment implementation has not been previously applied by public investors in Poland. It is therefore a challenge even for such experienced companies as Multiconsult
The analyses will be conducted in two stages, which will last 6 and 12 months, respectively. The first stage will include, among others, preliminary tests, including analysis of archival materials, assessment of the existing condition of civil structures, design of geological works for hydrogeological documentation or geodetic photogrammetric measurements. In the second stage, the specialists shall perform, for the needs of the CPK, among others: geotechnical and geophysical surveys or surface archaeological, probing and excavation works.
The quality of implementation of the entireinvestment depends on the accuracy of execution of field works. Therefore, we attach a great deal of importance to this stage. The Consultant will deal with very critical issues, such as unexploded ordnance survey and removal of unexploded ordnance or inventory of hazardous facilities. Therefore, our cooperation covers a period of 1 year and a half.
The agreement signed by CPK with Multiconsult Polska provides for the cooperation of the Site Survey Consultant with other Consultants as part of the Integrated Project Team. The resultsof works at the individual stages of the investment implementation preparation will be very important for the course of all works related to the planning and designing of the CPK.
The value of the contract resulting from the agreement signed on 21 January 2021 between the CPK company and Multiconsult Polska company amounts to net PLN 29.9 million. The agreement has been concluded for 18 months.
