Consultations on the strategy for the development of the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny region have been launched

The CPK company is committed to the sustainable development of the area around the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny. Together with the local authorities of 26 municipalities and seven counties of the Mazowieckie and Łódzkie Voivodeships, it shall develop optimum solutions for the region where the investments are planned. Consultations on this issue have been launched today.

The CPK company invited local authorities to work together on ideas for the spatial, economic and social development of the airport region. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first meeting was held on-line.

Contrary to the allegations of the opponents, the CPK company does not create anything contrary to the opinions of residents and local leaders. Just the opposite: we take into account their voice and actively cooperate where implementing an investment. This applies not only to the Social Council for the CPK. Consultations launched today are another step in this direction. We want the CPK construction to improve the quality of life for all residents of the region

SAYS MARCIN HORAŁA, THE GOVERNMENT PLENIPOTENTIARY FOR THE CPK.

Today, we have launched a site where every resident can find information on the progress of works related to the development of areas around the CPK. CPK’s works on strategic projects focus on three areas: Airport City area, planned residential areas as well as industrial and logistics parks. We would like to supplement this list with local government projects. The common development strategy will allow to coordinate the development of individual municipalities and avoid unnecessary conflicts with local infrastructure.

SAYS MIKOŁAJ WILD, THE PRESIDENT OF THE CPK COMPANY.

The CPK will be built between two large centres: Warsaw and Łódź, which means that it is an opportunity to create a duopolis in the heart of Poland. In the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, the CPK region covers 20 municipalities: Baranów, Wiskitki, Teresin, Sochaczew (municipal and rural municipality), Błonie, Żyrardów, Jaktorów, Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Nowa Sucha, Puszcza Mariańska, Mszczonów, Radziejowice, Milanówek, Brwinów, Podkowa Leśna, Michałowice, Pruszków, Piastów and Ożarów Mazowiecki. In the Łódzkie Voivodeship it covers six municipalities: Łowicz (municipal and rural municipality), Nieborów, Bolimów, Skierniewice (municipal and rural municipality).

The strategy of the CPK region will be a document included in the national statutory development management system allowing to apply for development funds, both from the European Union and from national programmes (including the CPK Multiannual Programme).

In line with the Concept of the CPK preparation and implementation adopted by the government in 2017, the spatial development of the CPK surroundings will be planned to develop city-forming, business, innovative, but also social and culturalfunctions, while respecting agricultural production.

Homelands in the CPK surroundings will have a chance to develop as a result of creating attractive jobs and improving infrastructure quality. The strategy will also help to implement local projects that improve quality of life. Today’s meeting is part of our dialogue with the local governments. At the beginning of December, we entered into an agreement with the Sochaczew, Żyrardów and Grodzisk poviats on exchange of record data.

SAYS PATRYK DEMSKI, THE MEMBER OF THE MANAGEMENT BOARD OF CPK RESPONSIBLE FOR REAL PROPERTY.

The CPK company assumes that strategic management of the development of the region will facilitate joint implementation of local projects, such as residents’ occupational activation programmes, preparation of investment areas for hotel and office functions, development of concepts for new housing areas, development of railway station areas (parking order, creation of conditions for the development of service buildings, improvement of accessibility for disabled persons), retrofit oflocal roads, including the improvement of pedestrian and cyclist safety.

One example of successful cooperation between the public investor and the local governments for the development of the airport region on which the CPK is modelled is the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, one of the largest hubs in Europe.
