Aviation needs people: Building the workforce for the industry’s future

Centralny Port Komunikacyjny, Polish Airports (PPL), and the Polish Airports Academy have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at developing skills and enhancing qualifications within the aviation industry. This initiative focuses on jointly designing an education system, recruiting, and preparing personnel capable of supporting the most ambitious infrastructure project in Polish aviation history – Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK).

One of the key aspects of this planned collaboration is the recruitment support for future CPK employees, which will be provided by the Polish Airports Academy to the company responsible for building Poland’s new central airport. The partners also plan to implement educational and research projects, organise training sessions, and cooperate with both national and international academic and industry institutions. The Polish Airports Academy – part of the PPL Group – will be responsible for introducing modern technologies in education and designing training programmes tailored to the expectations of CPK and the European aviation market.

This agreement is of strategic importance, forming a key component in establishing a long-term skills development system that will ensure the efficient operation of CPK from day one.

Our cooperation with PPL and PAA is aimed at achieving tangible results – educational programmes that will equip Poland with the workforce necessary to operate the most advanced hub airport in Europe. CPK is a project that requires not only modern infrastructure but, above all, highly skilled professionals prepared for the aviation industry of the future,

– said Dr Filip Czernicki, CEO of Centralny Port Komunikacyjny.

The agreement is not only a response to the workforce demands of the new airport but also serves as an impetus for the development of the entire national airport network. This joint initiative is designed to enhance standards and improve the quality of training across the entire sector.

We must consider human capital as a fundamental element of safety and competitiveness across the sector. A modern aviation industry cannot be built without a highly skilled workforce. By supporting the development of personnel for CPK and Polish aviation as a whole, we are investing not just in people but in the future of European mobility. The quality of our leaders, technicians, and specialists will determine whether Poland becomes not only a transit hub but also a centre for aviation decision-making and innovation

stated Adam Sanocki, Board Member for Strategy and Marketing at Polish Airports (PPL).

As a key project partner, the Polish Airports Academy will play a crucial role in translating the agreement’s objectives into tangible actions – including recruitment drives, courses, programmes, and workshops. With its existing training infrastructure and years of experience, the Academy will bridge the gap between market needs and a practical approach to skills development.

The demand for skilled aviation professionals is growing, which is why we are commencing joint initiatives immediately after signing the agreement. Our goal is to identify individuals with the right aptitude and to train specialists who are ready to work in a modern, international environment

summarised Artur Burak, CEO of the Polish Airports Academy.

According to data from ACI Europe, the airport industry in Poland generates approximately 500,000 jobs, making it one of the most significant sectors influencing employment, regional development, and the future of mobility. With the construction of CPK and the modernisation of regional airport infrastructure, skills and expertise will be key to ensuring the strength and resilience of the entire aviation system.
